A&W Restaurants Offer Free Kids Meals on Halloween!

To celebrate Halloween, A&W restaurants in Canada are giving out free Kids meals to kids (12 and under!)

All kids meals come with a drink, a side like fries or apple slices, a burger or chicken nuggets and a granola bar! 

What a great treat, especially for the parents! No need to worry about a dinner plan between trick-or-treating and handing out candy!

The offer is valid only on Halloween day and is limited to one Kids’ Pack per child.

Families are encouraged to visit their local A&W restaurant on October 31 to take advantage of this special offer

Trees Coffee Vancouver

For those who enjoy a good cheesecake for their coffee break or just as a treat, Trees Coffee is a great cafe to visit.

Denny's restaurant Vancouver

We have so many childhood memories stopping at Dennys for a dinner break during road trips. When we saw that Kids eat free on Tuesdays, we had to try it!

Denny's offers North American dishes, sandwiches, burgers, salad and all-day breakfast.

The mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce were just as good as we remembered.

Kids enjoyed the Kids meal options like the chicken tenders and fries.

You can even choose All-day Breakfast and customize your own "Grand Slam" meal!

Grandparents can choose from a Senior menu with cheaper prices too. On Thursdays, seniors get 15% off. 

We have had friendly customer service on our Denny's visits. It helps make for a great dining experience with the family.

49th Parallel Cafe and Luckys Doughnuts Vancouver

Want a change from pairing your usual pastries with your morning coffee? Check out a 49th Parallel Cafe location offering delicious Lucky's doughnuts!

These donuts are jumbo size, so they are great for sharing! Definitely kid-approved as well.

There are also several Vegan friendly options! All ingredients are listed or ask the knowledgeable staff about a specific donut.

Of course, there are seasonal coffees available, so you can get try some Autumn flavors. 🍂 

49th Parallel Cafe is open early and it's pretty quiet in the mornings so you can sit before continuing your day. 

We've had good customer service during our visits and no one is rushing you out if you decide to sit for awhile longer.

There is plenty of indoor space and seating at most locations. Even ramps in some cafes, so it's fine for strollers. Outdoor seating is also available at some cafe locations.

Dutch Wooden Shoe Vancouver

Looking for a family friendly brunch place that offers generous portions, dutch style pancakes and breakfast? Visit Dutch Wooden Shoe in the neighborhood of Mount Pleasant in Vancouver.

This place has been open for a few decades and photos of customers are part of the decor!

There are kids meals where kids can choose a savory pancake with bacon and egg or sweet pancake with fruit or chocolate. French toast is also on the kids menu options.

There is a lot to choose from in the regular menu. It all depends on what you feel like.

Portions are pretty big so it's great to share.

The Dutch pancakes come with all sorts of options. You can go simple, and get a pancake with a topping like apple and cinnamon or you can get a speciality pancake with a combo like smoked salmon, cheese and tomato.

For dessert we liked the Poffertjes, (pronounced puff’ ur jis) or Dutch Mini Pancakes are small, fluffy yeasted treats made in a special cast iron pan.

They are ready in just a few minutes so you can take them to go or enjoy a quick dessert.

The staff were welcoming and checked up on us often making sure to refill our coffees. 

We really enjoyed our brunch at Dutch Wooden Shoe and will definitely be back. It's a great place for families and everyone leaves satisfied.

The Mighty Oak Vancouver

Strolling through the Mount Pleasant neighborhood, you will find a unique,  Vancouver cafe and cute grocery store called, The Mighty Oak.

Nestled under the tall trees of the residential area, this place always feels like a cozy spot for a coffee break. 

The cafe serves good coffee and some delicious treats like muffins, cookies, and even pie.

For those who are dairy-free, they do offer a few milk-free alternatives like almond milk.

The Mighty Oak has limited indoor seating but they have covered outdoor tables just outside the cafe. 

It's a bit small for strollers inside the cafe, however, parking them outside by your table is possible. 

We've always had friendly customer service on every visit. Note: There can be a wait for your coffee when the cafe is busy.

The Mighty Oak also offers seasonal drinks like Pumpkin Spice or Maple Cinnamon lattes and Hot Apple cider. It's nice to check out what's new for the season.

If you're looking for a lovely Vancouver cafe to sit for a solo coffee break or meet a friend for fika, be sure to visit The Mighty Oak. You can even pickup a few grocery items, like milk, to take with you on your way home.
