Coffee Academy Riga

Located in Riga, Latvia, Coffee Academy is a pop-up cafe in a shopping center that offers delicious drinks, chocolate and other snacks.

We visited on a weekday evening and had a really nice Coffee break after a day strolling around the city.

The staff were friendly and helped with recommendations. There are a lot of different menu items to choose from at this cafe and chocolate shop. They also had Oat milk available!

Try a chocolate paired with a coffee, like a latte macchiato, or a cookie with a hot chocolate for a nice treat.

We tried the lilikoi and bailey's chocolates and they were delicious!

The cafe is spacious with plenty of indoor seating.

You can buy all things related to coffee making (italian supplier) and speciality chocolate gifts like Easter bunnies or Heart chocolates.

It was a nice spot to relax for a bit and they close at 7pm on most days.

Kids enjoyed the visit too and that's always a big plus. There was adequate space for a stroller and comfy places to sit for the little ones.

If you're in Riga, or just visiting the city, stop by Coffee Academy for a lovely coffee break with delicious drinks, chocolate and treats. It's always great to support small businesses too.

The Candy Room on Robson Street

 

The Candy Room, located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, Canada is on the busy shopping street of Robson. This candy shop has a huge assortment of Candy. From British brands to American brands, stuffed animals and small toys (they come with Candy), there's definitely a lot to see and try in this Candy store!

The store also has a bulk candy section, where you weigh the candy (like jelly beans or gummies) you've selected at the end. 

The store can get busy and it's not a big space, if you want to avoid rush hour, visit at the end of the day.

They even had this "World's Largest Gummy Snake" weighing 27lbs, or the weigh of a toddler, on display and for sale at $250. 

There were other snacks like cereal and chips, "Rap Snacks" chips for $2.50.

The Candy Room is a great place for gifts, or a snack for yourself. Be sure to check it out on Robson Street if you need a little treat while shopping.

Canadian Snacks Are Great Gifts

We brought back a few Canadian snacks from our trip to give to friends in Sweden and of course a few to save for ourselves too.

Chocolates from any country have always been a popular gift. There are a few brands you can only find in Canada so we make sure to get these whenever we visit. We've also asked relatives to bring some when they visit us!

Here are a few popular snack gifts that friends have enjoyed!

Maple syrup

There's nothing like the real Maple Syrup! You can buy some Maple leaf shaped bottles of Maple Syrup too but we usually get these Organic bottles ;) 

Maple cookies

I used to wonder why these were so popular as gifts or snack souvenirs until I tried one! Now, I love these with tea and so do friends!

Coffee Crisp chocolate bars

Coffee crisp bars can only be found in Canada! They are one of my favorite childhood snacks. Pair with coffee or just have it as is!

Aero chocolate bars

We actually discovered that Aero bars are also available in the UK! But some flavors we've only found in Canada plus we didn't transit through the UK this time. 

Celebration biscuits 

These cookies are really great with a hot drink. The chocolate and cookie make a great pairing. I made sure to take a couple of boxes to gift.

Purdy's chocolates

We love Purdy's chocolates during the holiday season and any time of the year!

One of our favorite chocolates are the hedgehogs!

Ketchup chips!!!

These are just a few of the Canadian snacks we like to gift and bring back for ourselves ;) There are of course plenty more! We made sure to eat a bunch on our visit to Canada during the holidays.

Göteborgs Choklad & KaramellFabrik

This little chocolate and caramel shop is located in the neighbourhood of Kronhusbodarna, right in the square of Kronhuset.

There is a large assortment of handcrafted chocolates and candies to choose from that make lovely Christmas gifts! Pralines,  chocolate bark and lollipops were on my list of gift ideas!

I stopped by the Chocolate factory and shop to pick up some Christmas presents. Snacks and treats make wonderful gifts in my opinion.

Many of my friends and family seem to agree ;) especially those who don't live in Sweden!

This shop can get quite crowded, especially during the Christmas season, as it's a small space. Now that it's time for last minute Christmas shopping there are many people out and about checking out the shops while visiting the Kronhuset Christmas Market.

If you are in Gothenburg or plan to visit in the future, stop by Kronhuset and Göteborgs Choklad & KaramellFabrik for some delicious treats!
