Krispy Kreme Vancouver Now Open

The new Krispy Kreme location in Vancouver opened this week! You can buy boxes of donuts or even a single. Glazed donuts go for $2 and the other flavors are a bit more.

It's a small Doughnut Cafe with no indoor seating. Just take your donuts with you. They also offer hot and cold beverages ☕️  

Don't worry if there's a lineup, with their efficient staff, it moves pretty fast.

Pickup a free Krispy Kreme hat as a souvenir.

They'll have Holiday themed donuts  available each holiday, like the current Charlie Brown Donuts!

Whisk Matcha Cafe

Whisk Matcha Cafe is Matcha Cafe location in the Mount Pleasant Neighborhood of Vancouver. Pastries and goodies are made by Level V Bakery!

This beautifully decorated Vegan cafe offers both sweet and savory items.

For the hot and cold drinks, you can choose oat or almond milk. The Matcha is delicious!

The cafe offers indoor seating and it's attached to the community centre which makes it a convenient place for a coffee or tea after an activity! 

We enjoyed our drinks and snacks and will be back to try more vegan treats.

Honolulu Coffee

With a few locations in Vancouver, Honolulu Coffee, offers Kona coffee and Hawaiian themed pastries.

The menu includes Hawaiian latte with Coconut and Macadamian Nut and Acai bowls and smoothies with different tropical fruits like mango and passionfruit.

There's other breakfast options and sandwiches ranging in price from $10 and up.

If you want an iced drink it's an extra charge. The same with alternative milk. 

Depending on the location, there may be outdoor seating as well. 

The cozy interior makes it a nice cafe to stop for a coffee break. Visit a Honolulu Coffee location to grab a snack or drink.

Nana's Green Tea

Nana's Green Tea is a Japanese cafe/restaurant not only offering Matcha drinks and desserts but Japanese food too.

You order on the kiosks at the front of the restaurant and can sit in or get takeout. If you need any Kiosk help, you can ask the staff (We had a little trouble removing items in our order).

Their Japanese Curry with Chicken Karaage was delicious.

The Beef Curry Udon was pretty good as well.

Had to try some dessert too and we ordered the Matcha soft serve and Black Sesame ice cream. It melted fast so next time we will order it after lunch is done.

For sitting in, you'll find one large share table and a few tables with bar stools. There are a few tables outside too.

The cafe/restaurant offers some pastries as well like their Matcha Croissant!

Whether you're looking to satisfy your Matcha drink craving, feel like some dessert or hungry for delicious Japanese Curry lunch, visit Nana's Green Tea!

FIKA Cafe Toronto

 

We enjoyed our visit to the Swedish inspired cafe, FIKA Cafe! Located in the neighborhood of Kensington in Toronto, Canada, FIKA means slowing down to enjoy a coffee break that may or may not include something sweet.

Living in Sweden, we learned to appreciate the Swedish tradition of Fika and were excited to check out a cafe with the name, FIKA! The cafe features outdoor areas and indoor seating, so you can sit in the sunshine or stay cozy inside.

As for the cafe's sweet offerings, one can find Swedish-style Cinnamon buns, that is made with cardamom like the traditional version and  cookies like their Matcha cookie.

There is a beautifully decorated wall of books inside. It's great spot for a photo backdrop. 

Inside there is also frozen items for sale like swedish cinnamon buns and merchandise for sale.

The service was friendly and buns were pretty good.

Hello Kitty Cafe Robson Street

If you're a fan of Japanese brand Sanrio especially Hello Kitty, this is a cool cafe to visit!

Located on the popular shopping street, Robson Street in Vancouver, the Hello Kitty Cafe is super cute and offers some sweet treats. The cafe's interior features Hello Kitty and a lot of pink. There are a few placess to sit for photos including this sofa by the entrance.

Of course, there are t-shirts, keychains, even umbrellas available for purchase at the cafe. Take home a souvenir or two.

Cute desserts and coffee/tea drinks (both hot and cold) are available.

There's a small seating area upstairs, but the cafe can get busy.

Whether you're a local or just visiting the city of Vancouver, this cute cafe is a must-see for Sanrio fans!

Fresh Press Coffee Bar

Fresh Press Coffee Bar in Richmond, offers some good coffee, tea and snacks. 

Their baked goods selection is baked fresh in-house daily.

There is outdoor and indoor seating so you can sit in the sunshine 🌞 

The cafe staff can tell you about the menu and what's available, if it's your first visit. They recommended some specialities like their tiramisu and chiffon cakes.

The Strawberry Chiffon cake was fluffy and soft and the iced matcha espresso combo was delicious!

If you are in the Richmond area and want a place to sit for a nice coffee break, visit Fresh Press Coffee Bar.

Hello Robin Cookies

During our visit to Washington state, we visited the Bellevue location of Hello Robin conveniently located near the playground at Bellevue park.

Kids could play while one parent went for a walk and cookies break! Maybe even  bring a few cookies for the group to share.

This was a small location so unfortunately, no coffee or ice cream. There was, however, a good selection of cookies and a few drinks like milk to go with.

We tried the habanero chocolate chip which they mentioned was the owner's favorite. The spice was in the sugar which made it quite spicy.

Classic chocolate chip didn't disappoint and were a favorite!

They're currently trying out different flavors to see which ones people enjoy best. S'more cookies were 50cents more.

If you're around Bellevue or the Seattle area and caving some cookies for your picnic, playground time or next coffee break, visit a Hello Robin location! They were delicious!

From breakfast bagels to croissants, Aidan's Cafe is open early (on weekdays) for breakfast or a coffee stop. The staff have always been welcoming, even in the early morning hours.

The cafe has indoor seating with plenty of tables for your next coffee break. 

From filled croissants to scones, there is a lot to choose! You may have to get a couple of things to try:) We enjoyed the coffee too!

You'll find delicious pastries both savory and sweet at this cafe. If you have any questions on ingredients, don't hesitate to ask the helpful staff.

Dotty Cakes and Epic Grill Silogs

Filipino bakery, Dotty Cakes, can be found at Epic Grill Silogs + Sans Rival located in New Westminister.

Offering traditional flavors like the popular flavor Ube, you can find some delicious looking custom cakes and other  desserts. It's a perfect spot to grab something for your next celebration or coffee break.

We really enjoyed the "UbeBytes" and Silvanas! The Silvanas are best eaten frozen.

The tiny cupcakes came in 2 flavors, Red Velvet and Ube. These were too good to have just one. The "UbeBytes" are a version of Ube brownies! Pair with a coffee and tea and you've got a nice coffee break ☕️ 

Hungry for something more hearty? Epic Grill Silogs offers some delicious Filipino Breakfast rice plates or "Silog" too.

Lees Donuts Vancouver

Lee's Donuts started with a location in the Granville Island Public Market on Granville Island in Vancouver. 

They've been serving delicious, handmade donuts since 1979. Lee's has since expanded with multiple locations in the city.

With a wide selection of donuts, this popular donut shop is a treat to visit. You can find their regular, classic flavors like  raspberry jelly or seasonal ones like the Horchata! The cheesecake donuts were also recommended to us by the Lee's Donut staff.

Be sure to stop by early to avoid missing out on your favorite flavor!

You can buy day old donuts at a discounted price or pickup some fresh donuts to have right away! 

The Lee's Donut location in Gastown is right by the historic Steam Clock and is very popular with tour groups.

Breka Bakery and Cafe

With several locations in the city and a great selection of sweet and savory options, check out Breka Bakery and Cafe in Vancouver.

Of course, coffee and tea are on the menu and Breka offers a complimentary milk substitution, which is a welcome change compared to other coffee places.

Feel like a slice of cake, cream bun or a small nibble of short bread, Breka is a great spot for your next fika (coffee break). Seasonal pastries are also available. 

If you're hungrier for a bigger bite to eat, they have a few different sandwiches including grilled cheese sandwiches 🥪, Soup, and sausage rolls. Prices are pretty reasonable as well.

During the Jewish Holiday of Hanukkah, Breka offers Sufganiyot or jelly-filled donuts.
