Since the Pandemic, we stopped going to movies and avoiding being indoors so we had to stop going to any movies.
Our recent movie theater experience was special because it was the first time taking the older sibling.
It was a little scary when the theater goes dark and during loud parts in the movie but otherwise it was an enjoyable experience. Seeing the trailers and commercials before the movie was fun too. How often do they see commercials these days?
My kids have wanted to go to the movies since we saw a movie theater and posters of different movies advertised just outside. "I want to go in there." and we would reassure them that we would go one time soon.
In Sweden, the kids movies are in Swedish with Swedish subtitles. So it's a Swedish lesson for those who aren't fluent ;)
There are booster seats for kids that need to sit a little higher. They were located just by the theater entrance. I don't remember if we had something similar as kids.
Of course, we had some popcorn đż too.
Besides popcorn, Swedes also eat crispy snacks or "Krispiga snacks". They come in different flavors like, bacon or sour cream.
The movie theater offers a good selection of snacks and drinks including slushies and bulk candy which you don't really see in a theater in North America.
Kids movie ticket prices are always discounted and there are even "Kids movie days" where it's even cheaper and they show a movie for kids and lower the volume a bit as well.
A movie is nice activity after a busy day of playing in the snow or doing errands or both!
We really enjoyed our movie experience and hope to go again soon!
Don't forget your snacks! (Buy them at the theater or afterwards at the mall!)
